Is it possible to encapsulate an entire feature film in just 10 words?

Of course not. What a ridiculous question.

But it is possible to give a flavour of it, whether that be a simple summary of the plot, an opinion on the calibre of the performances, or even a joke for those already familiar with the movie being described.

In The Ten Word Film Review Book, I’ve used all of these and many other methods to affectionately condense hundreds of people’s creativity, passion and sheer hard work into a single line. Some of the films I adore, some I loathe, but above all I love the thrill, the escapism and the pure potential of every last trip to the cinema. I hope The Ten Word Film Review Book can be enjoyed as a reader’s solitary journey through cinema, as the launchpad for discussion around a dinner table, or even as a round in a pub quiz.
