Look, you can smirk, but since then it’s reached the vertigo-inducing heights of 91,773. Anyway, this is what I believe marketeers call a ‘soft launch’. It’s all about word of mouth, building a buzz. Those of you who know about it now, you’re the special ones. Wait until Taylor Swift starts tweeting about it, those latecomers won’t be receiving a personalised message thanking them for their purchase.
Incidentally, for those of you in the UK reading this in the first three days after publication, a coming-of-age film wherein “Introvert spends idyllic summer working at convivial, idiosyncratic water park” is on Film4 this Wednesday at 6.55pm, and I highly recommend it.
